Abrasive Recycling Optional Features
Dust Collector For WARD 1
The WARD 1 comes with an optional Dust Collector. Depending on the size mesh on
the screen installed on the top of the shaker, it is possible that dust could be emitted from the
fluid bed dryer. If a splitter is installed on the unit, we recommend a dust collector be installed
with the WARD 1. The dust collector is specifically built to remove and separate
the steam and dust coming out of the dryer. The steam is removed as it passes over an impinger,
with the dust being collected in dust bag filters.
Dual Abrasive Transport System
A single automated abrasive transport system allowing abrasive to be moved up to 60 feet (18 m)
from the WARD 1 is standard on all WARD 1 units. If a splitter is
installed, a dual abrasive transport system is available allowing two grades of abrasive to be
delivered up to 60 feet away. This feature can also be added to the WARD 2.
DAR & DART
Drum Abrasive Recycling
The Drum Abrasive Recycling system is design specifically to process abrasive into the
WARD 1 or WARD 2 that has been stored up over time for
recycling at a later stage. You can put up to 4000 lbs of abrasive / waste material into the
DART (top unit) which removes large particles such as material drops, off cuts, tools that may
have fallen into the tank, etc. A recycling removal nozzle is placed at the bottom of the DAR
(bottom unit), the contents are agitated and the materials are processed through the recycling
unit. The DAR will empty completely when used.
The DAR and DART units are specifically built to be loaded in any fashion, such as, from drums
or with a front-end loader, containing all off-cuts and kerf material. The oversize waste is
separated out in the DART while the DAR will facilitate the continuous operation of the
WARD 1 or WARD 2 to recycle the abrasive for reuse.
The DAR unit comes standard with a diaphragm pump. The DART fits into the top of the DAR.
Dual Abrasive Splitter
It is possible to purchase a secondary splitter that will allow the dry, recycled abrasive to be
graded into different mesh sizes. You can adjust the actual mesh sizes that can be produced. The
option allows for two different mesh sizes to be generated. For example, if you are starting with a
50 mesh abrasive and a 145 mesh screen on the WARD 1, it is possible to grade out all the dried
abrasive into whatever mesh sizes you desire such as coarser than 100 mesh and finer than 100 mesh.
The splitter is designed to operate by using a knife-edge air stream to pass through the falling
abrasive. The resultant trajectory of the abrasive then determining what is coarse and fine
abrasive.
The greatest advantage of the splitter is its ability to increase the percentage of recovery of
recycled abrasive. This leads to the associated reduced payback time for the investment.
The secondary splitter screen is incorporated with a dual abrasive transport system. Once the
different sizes of abrasive are separated, they are transported to two different locations up
to 60 feet (18m) away.
