With nearly 100 WARD units in operation, it is clear that the
WARD 1 is a great success. However, mainly larger users have benefited from the
savings generated through recycling with the WARD 1. In fact, nearly 94% of all
inquiries we received were for a smaller, lower cost machine. This posed a challenge, in that we
believed we had built the WARD 1 as carefully as possible to keep costs down.
What was needed was a completely different overall concept. Hence the WARD 2 was
conceived. Whereas the WARD 1 is a perpetually balanced system, the
WARD 2 is not, meaning that all the abrasive washed and sorted is not then
instantly dried, but rather dried over a longer period of time.
WARDJet’s patented design of
the WARD 2 is ingenious in its concept, with an integrated method of washing,
screening, drying and splitting the abrasive into coarse and fine for reuse. The
WARD 2 incorporates a hopper to store the dry abrasive in two grades, a dust
and steam collector and a drum to collect all the undersize abrasive and waste kerf material.
