This feature can dramatically reduce the potential for broken nozzles by automatically adjusting the height of the cutting head to maintain a fixed distance between the nozzle and the material regardless of any variances in the material. By keeping the cutting head at a set distance above the material, one can cut faster with a better quality finish.
Control jog, Z-height, feed rate, and cutting speed all from your Android device. Setup and linking to your machine is as easy as taking a picture with your phone. Once installed, you can start and stop programs right from your phone or tablet. WARDJet is continuing to add features to the software and these updates will make sure you are getting the most out of your WARDJet! Contact WARDJet to learn how to add this functionality to Ikuhlu and your waterjet, then download the app to as many Android devices as you'd like on the Android Market.
This device can be used to accurately and quickly:
Cut at an angle as wide as 90°. The Psy-winder is a precision 5-axis waterjet cutting mechanism where the angle to the material is defined by one axis and the clock angle to the profile is another. In this manner, the programming for this design is very simple and the G-code to describe a beveled circle can be done in only 2 lines. Post processors are available for both 2D and 3D CAM software.
Like the Psy-Winder the Infini Winder can cut at an angle as wide as 90° but can continuously spin in one direction infinitely. There are no cables to wrap up. This saves an incredible amount of time in your part programs.
Each cutting head is independently controlled by its own AC servo motor which allows for independent movement as well as easy to set up mirror cutting. Cut your parts in half the time without sacrificing edge and cut quality!
The adjustable spreader option allows for incredible flexibility in cutting multiple parts at the same time. Simply slide the heads to your desired spacing and lock them in place. Cut with one head or multiple combinations with individual water shutoffs.
Check your pressure from a distance at-a-glance. To be able to glance at a large, easy to read ultra high-pressure water gauge can be valuable when operating a waterjet. Just by looking at how the needle is moving as the pump strokes will be an indication as to the condition of the pump seals, check-valves and other working parts.
Components will vary based on pump selected. The kits include specialized tools for doing maintenance work on your pump.
Parts in the kit will vary based on the pump chosen. WARDJet recommends that spare nozzles, orifices, and seal kits be ordered prior to installation. You determine the number of spare parts you would like ordered.
Accidents happen. Should something catastrophic happen to the Man-Machine Interface (X-Classic or XL) of your machine, you can use a laptop preloaded with the Ikuhlu controller software to run your machine until the MMI is repaired. Simply unplug the standard network cable from the MMI that is not working and plug it into your laptop and continue using your waterjet with minimal inconvenience.
The WARDJet pneumatic drill allows a hole to automatically be drilled through the material at a specific offset from the waterjet cutting head. Once the hole is drilled, the waterjet will then automatically start the cut inside the pre-drilled hole. Our CAD/CAM program can automate this entire process. In order to use this tool, you will need to provide an air compressor capable of 25 cfm at 90 psi.
Automatically thread a hole without ever having to take your material off the table.
The WARDJet pneumatic tapping tool allows holes cut with the waterjet or with the pneumatic drill to be automatically threaded by the machine without ever having to take your material off the table. The same program you use to cut your parts can now be used to create threaded holes that are immediately ready for use. In order to use this tool, you will need to provide an air compressor capable of 25 cfm at 90 psi.
(1000 lb included standard)
The 2300 lb hopper allows an operator to run the machine for more than one 8 hour shift without adding abrasive.
Some customers prefer to have a larger bulk feed hopper due to, running 24 hours per day, running with multiple abrasive cutting heads, or running over 100 HP.
WARDJet´s bulk feed hoppers have been carefully designed and specified to include the critical aspects necessary to deliver abrasive to the cutting heads. We provide ASTM certified and tested hoppers that are easy-to-use. These hoppers are made with a heavy-duty screen to help keep out debris and foreign contaminates, a rigid lid, air pressure regulator, pressure gauge, water filter and lifting lugs.
(1000 lb included standard)
An even larger bulk feed hopper is also available. Additional options to the bulk feed hoppers include low-level sensors to alert you when abrasive is low and custom color paint.

This option allows you to program the height of the cutting head along with the shape being cut in the X and Y direction.
Even if you have 4 independent Z-carriages, they can all be set to have programmable Z capabilities on the same machine and work simultaneously. For example, you could cut a geometry into a ball while, keeping the cutting head a set distance above the ball at all times.
With a waterjet mounted printer running along side your cutting head, you can print part numbers and critical information directly onto your material. This printer is mounted on the Z-carriage next to the waterjet cutting head. This way you can cut and print in one complete, streamlined process.
The barcode scanner helps streamline your process from design to the finished product. Quickly find the right part to cut without having to search through many part programs.
Key reasons to use a barcode scanner:
This unit removes abrasive and kerf material from the waterjet tank – nearly eliminating the need to dig or clean out the tank. As with all removal-only systems, drops will not be removed.
This option dramatically reduces the amount of shoveling and downtime required to empty your tank compared to not having an abrasive removal system. This is one of our more popular accessories, and if not initially selected, it will likely move to the top of the list once you have shoveled out your tank a few times!

This is the front end of the WARD Pro, our abrasive recycling unit.
The DMH is beneficial to companies running different nozzle combinations and need to change abrasive feed rates quickly.
For example:
Material |
Orifice/Nozzle |
Abrasive Flow |
| Thin | 0.010”/0.030” | 0.7 lbs/min |
| Thick | 0.014”/0.040” | 1.3 lbs/min |
| Very Thick | 0.016”/0.040” | 1.5 lbs/min |
These abrasive flow settings can all be pre-programmed in the DMH. When the operator changes the orifice/nozzle combination, they can also quickly change to the appropriate setting on the Dynamic Mini-Hopper. A low pressure abrasive feed rate is also available when piercing fragile materials like glass or composites. When the pump goes into low pressure, the DMH automatically uses the low pressure abrasive feed rate (Requires Remote Pump On/Off option).
With the variable speed mini hopper installed, the result is fewer blockages in the pierce procedure, and a substantial increase in consistency when low pressure piercing.
The variable speed mini-hopper allows the abrasive flow to be reduced automatically from within the software and program. When cutting stone, glass, ceramic tiles, laminates, phoenolics, lexan, acrylic, composites, carbon fiber, or any material that is fragile, brittle, or difficult to pierce, a low-pressure pierce is critical to reduce the risk of damage to the material. As the water pressure is reduced, the abrasive flow to the cutting head is also reduced to balance the reduction in vacuum generated by the cutting head. The result is less blockages in the pierce procedure, and a substantial increase in consistency when low pressure piercing. If ordered with a new waterjet, the variable speed mini-hopper can be specified for an additional charge (roughly 25% of the cost of a new unit if purchased separately).
The WRS-3000 focuses on filtering spent cutting water of materials that specifically would harm intensifier pumps used in waterjet cutting. The filtered water leaving the WRS-3000 has a quality better than most tap water, thus increasing pump seal life and the life of your high pressure components. With more than 100 WARD units installed worldwide, the WARD product series have earned a reputation for recycling abrasive reliably, consistently, and efficiently. With that in mind we have improved upon our design to bring you the WARD Pro. The WARD Pro will give you good quality, reusable abrasive that will save you money and resources. You will reduce waste and cost with this innovative and effective solution.
The Drum Abrasive Recycling system is specifically designed to process recycled abrasive into the WARD Pro. You can put up to 4000 lbs of abrasive / waste material into the DART (optional top unit) which removes large particles such as material drops, off cuts, and tools that may have fallen into the tank. A removal nozzle is placed at the bottom of the DAR (standard bottom unit) to agitate the contents and process the materials through to the recycling unit. The DAR will empty completely when used.
The DAR and DART units are specifically built to be loaded in any fashion such as from a drum or with a front-end loader where the waste material still contains, off-cuts and kerf material. The oversized waste is separated out in the DART while the DAR will facilitate the continuous operation of the WARD Pro to recycle the abrasive for reuse.
The DAR unit comes standard with a diaphragm pump. The DART fits into the top of the DAR and allows for even greater abrasive capacity.
This revolutionary grating, clamping, and fixturing system has been designed with the user in mind. Everything about this system is efficient and easy-to-use. The flat, rigid design can eliminate movement of parts during cutting. The thinner 16 gauge steel construction substantially reduces back-spray and kickback. These grates are designed to be completely reversible therefore doubling the life of your grates. The design of the job shop grates allows you to use our WARDJet clamps to secure material anywhere on the cutting table.
If you cut heavier, thicker materials this grating and clamping system is designed for you. Made from ½" thick steel these grates can support your heaviest materials. The 8" spaces between the slats in the grates allow you to cut thicker materials at slower speeds. Any deep cuts in the grates can easily be repaired, effectively giving the heavy-duty grates an unlimited life.
The water-only grating system is perfect if your application does not require cutting with abrasive. The unique design of these plastic bricks drains water away from the cutting area while reducing back-spray during cutting. The specially designed polypropylene materials resist delamination or loss of shape.
Each section of the concrete grates is 26" x 72". These grates are an ideal choice for tile or granite slabs because they provide full support for material and allow for cutting of small parts without them falling into the tank. These durable grates can be screeded over with a sand cement grout at week's (or day's) end so they are completely restored, allowing them to have effectively an unlimited life.
Increase your cutting efficiency and revenue with reduced loading time using the WARDJet External Loading Platform (ELP). Load and unload your work on the ELP while your machine is still cutting.
Regardless of the make or size of the waterjet purchased, every waterjet owner / operator will face the same limiting "bottleneck" issue: the time it takes to load and unload the machine. If you don't hear that hissing sound, you are not making money! WARDJet realizes this and developed a way to get the maximum cutting time per hour on a system.
WARDCAM is a powerful, yet simple package for quickly turning DXF files into CNC code for the waterjet. WARDCAM removes the complexity of many CAD/CAM packages by utilizing context sensitive menus to walk you through the process. A “Fast Forward” button can be used to create CNC files from a DXF file with one click. You can quickly step forward or backward in the process at any time to fine tune settings and then continue from that point with the Fast Forward button. Lead-ins can be added automatically or manually. Cut qualities can be adjusted for entire or partial cuts. If your waterjet has accessories like 5-axis cutting, drilling and tapping, these can also be easily programmed.
Our nesting software allows the nesting of many complex parts into one part program. You can cut a larger number of parts with a noticeable reduction in material waste.
The CAD/CAM software licenses come standard as a USB key that must be plugged into your computer for the software to run. The floating network license lets you install the software license on a server for networked computers to access and share. The number of licenses purchased will determine the number of computers that can access the software at any one time.
One license for our CAD/CAM Software comes standard with a purchase of a WARDJet waterjet. Additional licenses are available for an additional cost.
