125 Families Encouraged With Christmas Packages

WARDJet in partnership with the Summit County Machine Shop Group of which Kelly is the chairperson (note politically correct here), are hand delivering care packages to over 125 families today. Approximately $3200 worth of goods were purchased with money from collected donations, along with 75 whole turkeys that were donated graciously from a local BJ's Wholesale Club.  For years WARDJet has opened our facility to prepare and package the parcels, and help to deliver them personally.  Each package contains all you would need for a wonderful Christmas dinner and day.
So thank you Kelly and the Group for all you do to help bring some warmth to families in the area.
May you all have a wonderful Christmas and New Year and we look forward to a great 2010!

DAR Hoppers for WARD PRO Waterjet Abrasive Recycling System

The front end of any WARD PRO (Waterjet Abrasive Recycling Dispenser) is the DAR.  It is an easy to use, large self tipping hopper that allows the waterjet abrasive to be removed in a controlled manner from the bottom of the hopper with the patented removal nozzle, to the top of the WARD PRO screen. The AROS (Abrasive Removal Only System) is what actually moves spent garnet out of the waterjet tank into the DAR and then to the WARD PRO, so all WARDJet users with the AROS unit have already taken the first step towards abrasive recycling should they ever choose to do so.

Shipping an X-Classic Waterjet Controller

Over the years we have mastered crating and shipping things like controllers.  What used to take hours now literally takes less than 10 minutes.  The controller is placed into the custom built crate with padding in all the right places.  Beams that secure the controller in location, also with padding are quickly positioned and hey presto, we have a secure, well protected way to ship one of the most important parts of the waterjet.

Shipping a couple of waterjets

When shipping over the winter period we take special care to ensure no water is anywhere in the system.  With temperatures of 17 deg F, things tend to freeze quickly.  We once purchased a used system and the owner never removed the water prior to shipping, even though we were assured it had been, and the filter housings along with other components all cracked.  It was quite interesting.  None of the high pressure components were damaged.   But nothing like a direct drive pump we once got that was full of water.  It literally cracked the casing!

Waterjet Water Quality Questions

An important question that our technical support team gets asked quite often:
Q:   What are some of the factors to consider when testing the water quality for a waterjet system?
A:  There are three main things to consider in the quality of the water that your waterjet cutting system uses. The Ph level, the Silica content, and the Total Dissolved Solids(TDS). The Ph level should be between 6 to 8 ideally. We also consider a TDS count of less than 100ppm to be good. You should always have your water tested...
If you do need some sort of filtration system to improve your water quality some of the common remedies are deionizing tanks, reverse osmosis, and water softeners. Typically a water softener is enough for most applications.
