At WARDJet, we're constantly creating new technologies and innovations. What drives us to do this? Customers with unique applications that require better solutions than what is already available drive us to see difficult situations as opportunities to revolutionize and innovate.
Absolutely everything we do has a custom feel to it. Small adjustments here and there are made for every customer. Since every customer has a different application we customize and optimize our waterjets to fit you instead of you having to fit your waterjet.
Richard Ward explains some of the finer details of what goes into the development of a custom manufacturing system.
WARDJet doesn't just build waterjets we engineer solutions specific to your application. This particular waterjet has a custom built tank with jigs for a specific part.
This split tank, large format waterjet is set up for cutting specific parts on one half of the table and for standard cutting on the other. It is also equipped with independently driven cutting heads for mirror cutting.
This 6 head 2.5 by 4.6 meter waterjet has three custom external loading platforms for the loading of materials and offloading of parts in a quick and efficient way.
Custom user interface solutions like this barcode scanner are able to be integrated into your waterjet cutting system.
This ZX-48 is designed to cut a 10" thick part fully submerged under water. This is made easy by the ability to automatically raise and lower the water level 12" with a pneumatic baffle. This machine includes a custom fixture for a specific material and part program. Because of long cut times the thickness of the tank floor was increased to eliminate the chance of cutting through the bottom. The Z-48 can also be purchased as a standard machine with a standard tank height.
This custom ZXL-45 features a lightweight, custom shuttle table that holds a .003" honeycomb specifically for water only applications. Our customer needed a quick way to load and unload material in order to maximize their cutting time. Also, they required a system that would minimize the spray on the material that is being cut. With just a few modifications to a standard Z-45, we were able to fulfill all of their needs. When the shuttle tables were added, we must also have a way to lock the tables in place to cut. Our engineers designed a new locking mechanism that can sense when the tables are in place and lock them securely until you'd like to switch the tables.
This machine is a perfect example of how a modular design strategy makes it possible to make small changes to existing designs to create a machine with custom capabilities. View the video below to learn more about this machine and it's components.
These ZXL-45's both feature a rotary axis, allowing for the rotation of the material 360 degrees for the cutting of round or oddly shaped material. An optional height probe has been added to one such ZX-45 to allow the waterjet to identify the absolute center point in an extruded material in order to precisely split the part in half. This probe is able to remove human error in the splitting of the parts as well as greatly increase efficiency by eliminating the need to measure parts by hand.
An additional feature to these custom machines, a pneumatic baffle system has been added in order to quickly raise and lower the water level in the tank for easy loading and unloading of parts.
This ZX-69 is custom designed and fabricated for a specific application.
ZX-813 custom designed and fabricated to accept shuttle tables and integrated printer.
Plasma Cutter retrofit with 6 waterjet cutting heads and our X-Classic controller hardware and Ikuhlu controller software.
JX-7025 high-speed water-only waterjet cutting system. This waterjet is 85' x 14' with its integrated shuttle table system.
JX-138 water-only waterjet cutting system with pinch feed roller and self loading table. This system was originally a custom made machine for a specific customer. More recently it has become one of our standard systems.
WARDJet is consistently finding innovative ways to deliver abrasive to the cutting head. Our innovations allow you to do more with your waterjet.
Standard Mini Hopper
Mini hoppers have gone from static speed delivery, to variable speed delivery, allowing for settings of abrasive flow.
Variable Speed Mini Hopper
The Variable Speed Mini Hopper allows you to use multiple settings of abrasive flow, allowing for low-pressure piercing.
Dynamic Mini Hopper
The Dynamic Hopper allows you change the flow rate of abrasive to the cutting head on the fly, without stopping your cut. This advancement opens up unlimited potential for your waterjet cutting.
